Age: Over 50% of the women who develop fallopian tube cancer are above the age of 65 years.
Menstruation: Women in whom menstruation started before age 12 or in whom menopause is attained late are at increased risk for fallopian tube cancer.
Family history: Women with close family members suffering from ovarian, breast, or fallopian tube cancer are at increased risk of fallopian tube cancer.
Mutations: Women who are positive for BRCA gene mutation have more likelihood of developing fallopian tube cancer.
Never giving birth or lactation: Women who have never given birth to a child or never had breastfed are at increased risk for developing fallopian tube cancer.
Underlying medical conditions: Certain underlying medical conditions, such as obesity, infertility, endometriosis, Peutz-Jeghers disease, and Lynch syndrome, are at increased risk of developing fallopian tube cancer.
