Fallopian tube cancer is generally considered a part of ovarian cancer as it remains unclear where cancer has initiated (in the fallopian tubes or ovaries).

The factors affecting fallopian cancer survival are:

  • Age: Younger women have a higher chance of survival partly because of their relatively higher ability to tolerate aggressive treatment.
  • Stage of the disease: It is one of the most important factors that affect the prognosis. Women diagnosed with late-stage fallopian tube cancer have poorer outcomes than those diagnosed with early-stage.
  • Residual cancer: If there is a cancer residue after the surgery, the women have a poorer prognosis than women with completely removed tumors.
  • Cancer in abdominal fluid: If the fluid accumulation in the abdomen is tested positive for cancerous cells, the prognosis is poor.
