It is important to have a follow-up visit after the completion of the ureteral cancer treatment. The survivors are provided a follow-up visit scheduled at the time of discharge. The follow-up visit plan should be followed diligently. It allows early detection of ureteral cancer recurrence and helps in managing the long-term side effects of cancer treatment. Patients with a history of ureteral cancer are at an increased risk of developing bladder cancer. Thus, the survivors may expect cystoscopy and urine analysis during follow-up treatment. Further, the survivors should not ignore any symptoms (related or unrelated to urination), such as breathing problems and bone pain, as it may be a sign of cancer recurrence.
