The oncologist provides the survivor with a schedule for follow-up care visits on the day of discharge. During the visit, they may expect a couple of tests including the blood tests and imaging tests, such as ultrasound or CT to monitor any recurrence of GIST. The survivors should not ignore any symptoms that may cause concern and must immediately contact the cancer specialist.
