Gurugram, Sept 11, 2024 – American Oncology Institute (AOI) in Gurugram has achieved a significant breakthrough in the treatment of a 46-year-old male patient from West Bengal diagnosed with inoperable squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue. Presenting with a painful, lobulated mass on the right side of his tongue and a history of chronic tobacco chewing, the patient experienced severe symptoms including difficulty swallowing and speaking. Despite previous attempts to address recurrent, poorly healing ulcers over the past eight months, the patient’s condition deteriorated, necessitating a specialized approach.
Following a thorough clinical examination and biopsy, which confirmed the diagnosis of tongue cancer, the patient was deemed inoperable. He was then referred to the Department of Medical Oncology at AOI Gurugram, where a customized chemotherapy protocol was meticulously developed. This targeted approach led to a significant improvement in his condition, enabling him to speak and swallow food more effectively.
