Dr. Rajendra Kumar Tanwar is one of the best Radiation Oncologists in Rajasthan, with over 37 years of distinguished experience in cancer treatment, oncology education, and clinical research. Throughout his illustrious career, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening and advancing radiation oncology services across the region.
He completed his M.D. in Radiotherapy in 1989 from Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner. After his tenure at MBS Government Medical College, Kota, he joined American Oncology Institute (AOI), Kota, as a Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology. He has been the Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Government Medical College, Kota, a leadership role he assumed in April 2014.
Dr. Tanwar’s professional journey includes key roles at some of India’s premier medical institutions, including SGPGI, Lucknow; AIIMS, New Delhi; Dr. S.N. Medical College, Jodhpur; Government Medical College, Vadodara; and RNT Medical College, Udaipur. Across these institutions, he has made significant contributions to the development of oncology departments and has mentored the next generation of oncology professionals.
A dedicated academician, Dr. Tanwar has authored over 80 scientific publications in reputed national and international journals and has actively participated in more than 80 conferences worldwide. His research work, including scientific papers, posters, and presentations, reflects his deep commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving cancer care.
His outstanding contributions have been acknowledged by several prestigious organizations, including the Indian Red Cross Society, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Rajasthan Medical Council, and Government Medical College, Kota. He was also honored with the Kota Health Icons Award 2023 by The Times of India and the Hadoti Pride Award 2023.
Dr. Tanwar is a life member of multiple esteemed professional bodies, such as the Indian College of Radiation Oncology, the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, the Association of Medical & Pediatric Oncologists of India, the Association of Physicians of India, and the Indian Medical Association.
