Home > Cancer types > Leukemia

Leukemia is cancer that affects the body’s blood-forming tissues, including the lymphatic system and the bone marrow.

Leukemia usually involves the white blood cells (WBC’s). The WBC’s in body are potent infection fighters, they normally grow and divide in an orderly way as your body needs them. But in people with leukemia, the bone marrow produces abnormal white blood cells, which don’t function properly and impairs ability of our body to generate new healthy White Blood Cells.
