Head and Neck Oncology Department at American Oncology Institute (AOI) offers advanced oncology care to treat, manage and prevent cancers in the head and neck area. These include cancer of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, nasopharynx, oropharynx, nasal cavity, sinuses, and salivary glands.
We offer cancer treatment through a multidisciplinary approach using surgical, medical and radiation oncology. The choice of treatment depends upon several factors, such as the stage of cancer, location of the tumor, age of patients, underlying medical conditions, and overall health of the patients. Surgery is the preferred treatment for early-stage head and neck cancer. However, a combinatorial treatment strategy is implemented in advanced cancers.
The speciality at AOI units is well equipped with advanced diagnostics and treatment technologies which include PET-CT scanning, 3 Tesla MRI and Cyberknife.
