Cancer is one of the most feared diseases worldwide, and when multiple family members are diagnosed with it, fear and anxiety often grow even stronger. Many people begin to believe that if cancer runs in the family, getting cancer is unavoidable. This belief can create emotional stress, hopelessness, and confusion.
Having a family history of cancer does not mean you will definitely develop cancer. While genetics can increase risk in some cases, many people with a strong family history never get cancer, and many people diagnosed with cancer have no family history at all.
