Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML)- Causes and Blood Test Diagnosis

Age: The risk of developing CML increases as you get older. It is most commonly diagnosed in older adults and is very rare in children.
Gender: Men have a slightly higher risk of developing CML than women.
Radiation Exposure: Exposure to very high levels of radiation can increase the risk of CML. However, routine medical x-rays or dental x-rays do not significantly affect this risk.
