Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)- Early Signs and Risk Factors

Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow that requires timely diagnosis and treatment. It primarily affects the myeloid cells, which are responsible for producing red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. In AML, the bone marrow produces abnormal, immature white blood cells (called myeloblasts) that do not function properly. These abnormal cells multiply rapidly, crowding out healthy blood cells and leading to serious health complications.
