Ludhiana, 10th June, 2024 – DMCH Cancer Care Centre in collaboration with American Oncology Institute (AOI), proud to announce the successful treatment of a 67-year-old male patient diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the tongue with locally extensive unresectable disease. This marks a significant achievement in advanced cancer care and highlights the capabilities of AOI and DMCH in treating complex cancer cases.
The patient presented with an extensive growth on the left lateral part of the tongue crossing midline & extending to the floor of the mouth involving palatine tonsils, soft crossing palate and Left RMT with multiple nodes. The diagnosis was confirmed through clinical and radiological evaluations. In view of extensive inoperable disease the patient received definitive radiotherapy along with concurrent chemotherapy. The multidisciplinary team at AOI worked diligently to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient. The patient is now under regular follow-up care, with the latest assessment in April 2024 showing no evidence of residual lesions. A recent CT scan of the neck confirmed the absence of any remaining cancerous lesions, and the patient has experienced no treatment-related complications to date.
