Gynaecological Cancers

Gynecological cancers are cancers that develop in the female reproductive system. The types of gynecological cancer are ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, cervical cancer, vulvar cancer, uterine cancer, and vaginal cancer. Different gynecological cancers have different signs and symptoms and have different screening, preventive, and treatment strategies.

Due to the lack of awareness and inadequate availability of screening methods, most cases of gynecological cancers are diagnosed at the advanced stages. However, any signs and symptoms related to the reproductive system, such as altered menstrual cycle, vaginal discharge, lump in the vagina, and pain in the pelvic area, should not be ignored, and immediate consultation is required, especially in the case of women at increased risk of gynecological cancers. That said, gynecological cancers are often treatable.
