Co-founded in 2006 by a group of physicians and industry experts, with decades of experience in University of Pittsburgh Medical College (UPMC), Pittsburgh, USA in managing oncology practices, AOI brings university-level medical care to underserved areas worldwide.

UPMC Cancer Centers was established in the late-1990’s through merging UPMC’s academic and research capabilities with a large private oncology practice run by Dr. Stanley Marks and is now organized in a hub and spoke fashion with over 40 regional sites with over 200 oncologists provide care to nearly 75,000 patients per year, including 25,000 new patients.

AOI was started with an aim to close the gap between standards of cancer care in India and the US through transporting the rich lineage of its parent organization in offering Precision Cancer Care.

Dr. Ajay Bhatnagar, Radiation Oncologist, President of the local state chapter of American College of Radiology (ACR), Arizona Radiological Society. Dr. Bhatnagar has lectured internationally regarding this treatment option and served as faculty for the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS)

Annual meeting continuing to serve on committees on behalf of ABS and American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and key opinion leader for the role of radiation therapy in the treatment of Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer.

Dr. Ajay Bhatnagar, MD, MBA, is a board-certified radiation oncologist who received his medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. With an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering, Dr. Bhatnagar saw an opportunity to apply technology to healthcare, which helped him choose to pursue a medical degree.
