Prostate cancer is a disease in which cancer cells form in the tissues of the prostate. The prostate gland is a walnut-sized organ located within the male reproductive system near the bladder and surrounding the urethra or tube that carries urine. The primary function of the prostate is producing fluids that make up semen.
The prostate gland is located below the bladder and in front of the rectum. It is the most common cancer in men, but it is also treatable if found in the early stages.
