MD Research Thesis
“Dosimetric comparison of standard 3-Dimensional Conformal radiotherapy followed by Intensity Modulated radiotherapy boost schedule (Sequential IMRT plan) with Simultaneous Integrated Boost – IMRT (SIB IMRT) treatment plan in patients with localized carcinoma prostate.”

Guide: Prof Rakesh Kapoor Co guide Prof S.K Singh

Carried out between 2008 – 2011 in the department of Radiotherapy, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.

Dr. Ansuma’s research finding were as follow:

“Our study indicated that for equal PTV coverage, SIB-IMRT markedly reduced doses to the critical structures for most of the cases considered in this study, therefore should be considered as the strategy for dose escalation. SIB IMRT has lesser NTCP than sequential plan with reduced treatment time”.
